El taller de televisión alternativa o “telestreet” consistirá en habilitar a los participantes del curso para poder hacer una televisión móvil, de calle, que podrá emitir desde cualquier punto de la ciudad. Para ello se usarán materiales “domésticos” en el sentido de tecnología digital que esta actualmente en cualquier hogar. Cámaras de video minidv, grabadores de dvd y conexiones a Internet ADSL o Wireless por las que transmitiremos programas de televisión a todo el planeta. Usaremos herramientas de software libre.
La teoría y la práctica irán de la mano. Una parte del taller será una “install party” de utilidades para realización del streaming y herramientas web de vídeo sobre Linux. Veremos como se usa una cámara digital y en especial para hacer televisión por Internet. Nos pondremos a grabar y a aprender de los resultados. Montaremos una mesa de realización portátil y nos introduciremos en el mundo de la producción televisiva. Aprenderemos a manejar una mesa de sonido y los micrófonos. El resultado electrónico de toda esa composición aprenderemos a grabarlo en dvd, codificarlo a distintos formatos para subirlo a Internet y transmitirlo.
Veremos las diversas posibilidades de la web2.0 para el audiovisual desde Blogs a Youtube. Estudiaremos el universo de los medios narrativos en la red, técnicas de emisión y técnicas audiovisuales. Y saldremos a la calle a hacer televisión, a estar allí donde se produce el evento, a romper la división emisor-receptor con la participación directa de la gente.
El fin de semana complementará toda esta formación mediante un encuentro llamado "Otras televisiones". Este se transmitirá por streaming con la colaboración de los asistentes al taller de telestreet.
The aim of this alternative television workshop is to enable the course participants to create a mobile street television – “telestreet” – with the capacity to broadcast from any location in the city. To achieve that, domestic materials will be used – “domestic” referring to digital technology that can be found in any contemporary household. We use minidv video cameras, dvd recorders and ADSL or wireless Internet connections to transmit our television programmes globally. We use free software tools.
Theory and practice walk hand in hand. The workshop includes an “install party” of utilities for the accomplishment of streaming and video web tools on Linux. There will be demonstrations of how to use digital cameras, in particular for the purpose of creating Internet television. We practise recording and learn from our results, set up a portable editing table and enter the world of TV-production, and learn how to operate mixer boards and microphones. Finally, we learn how to convert the electronic results of our entire composition into a dvd recording, as well as how to encode the recording into different formats in order to upload it to the Internet and transmit it.
We look at web2.0 and its range of possibilities when it comes to audiovisual production, from Blogs to Youtube. We also study the universe of web-based narrative media, broadcasting techniques and audiovisual techniques. And we hit the streets, to make television, be where it all happens, and break the broadcaster-receiver regime with direct participation by the people.
During the weekend the course will be complemented by a meeting called “Alternative Televisions”. This event will be transmitted via streaming with the backing of the telestreet workshop assistants.
